Job summary

Penspen is urgently seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer (HVAC) for offshore, WHTs, subsea & piping projects based in Abu Dhabi. The role requires extensive offshore commissioning expertise for HVAC systems, safety, and handover to operations.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and possess 15+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in offshore projects. PMC/EPC background and ADNOC Offshore experience are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Execute HVAC commissioning activities for offshore oil & gas facilities, including WHTs, offshore platforms, subsea cable and pipeline developments, and brownfield modification projects.
• Ensure HVAC systems are installed, tested, commissioned, and handed over safely and per project specs, standards, safety requirements and performance criteria.
• Ensure HVAC systems support personnel safety, equipment reliability and operational continuity prior to startup and handover.
• Develop HVAC Commissioning Execution Plans, procedures, method statements, and schedules.
• Review HVAC engineering deliverables, vendor docs, P&IDs, HVAC layouts, control philosophies, and system descriptions.
• Define commissioning system boundaries and turnover sequences.
• Participate in constructability/operability reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, and startup readiness assessments.
• Prepare commissioning dossiers, test sheets, and checklists.
• Coordinate HVAC commissioning with construction, electrical, I&C, and operations teams.
• Commission HVAC systems for offshore Wellhead Towers and associated facilities.
• Verify ventilation and pressurization requirements for offshore control/electrical rooms.
• Commission HVAC systems for offshore substations, telecom shelters, and control facilities.
• Verify HVAC support systems for subsea control rooms.
• Coordinate commissioning under SIMOPS conditions.
• Ensure continuity of HVAC support during modifications.
• Promote safe commissioning practices during offshore campaigns.
• Resolve technical issues affecting HVAC commissioning and startup.
