MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To ensure continuous availability and optimal planning of aircraft spare parts, tools, and consumables to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, achieving required service levels and cost efficiency.

To ensure continuous availability and optimal planning of aircraft spare parts, tools, and consumables to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, achieving required service levels and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans materials for heavy maintenance checks, line maintenance, deferred defects, modifications, lease returns, entry into service, and other aircraft maintenance projects.
  • Reviews initial work packs at draft stage to identify material requirements.
  • Ensures cost-effective availability of mandatory and contingency materials at the right place and time to support scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
  • Applies appropriate calculation tools to optimise the provisioning and holdings of consumables and expendables.
  • Coordinates with Engineering, Technical Support, Maintenance Planning, Production Planning, MCC, and Materials teams to ensure timely identification, provisioning, and availability of materials to support maintenance schedules.
  • Supports management in preparing the annual budget for maintenance activities related to materials planning and inventory.
  • Follows up with relevant teams to expedite material pre-load and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Coordinates material positioning, transfers, and inventory control at maintenance bases.
  • Implements control measures to manage and monitor material requirements during aircraft maintenance, stock issues and returns, and movement of serviceable and unserviceable parts and tools.
  • Monitors and prioritises critical defects requiring components to avoid Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations.
  • Ensures effective control and compliance with policies, procedures, and standards for initial provisioning, re-provisioning, project materials, surplus identification, and obsolescence management.
  • Controls inventory replenishment and monitors turnaround times for purchasing and repair actions to ensure cost-effective material availability within budget.
  • Handles system transactions to ensure accurate and timely data recording, including part number database creation and vendor management.
  • Manages inventory reconciliations for removed and unused materials and ensures proper document handling with Stores.
  • Prepares financial reports related to material usage and supports invoice review and clearing processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aviation) or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in materials planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations within an airline, MRO, or aviation-related organisation is desirable.
  • Knowledge of airline MRO systems (such as AMOS, TRAX, OASES or equivalent) is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP-based inventory or planning tools is an advantage.
