Objectives / Purpose of the role.

Overall management of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) system in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and Environmental Regulations. Promote HSE awareness and conduct training to improve competency and enhance HSE performance.

Job Scope

• Ensure all workshop and warehouse activities comply with project specifications, codes, standards, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements for HSE.
• Develop, review, revise, and update HSE SOPs according to Wasco Group HSE policies, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and relevant legal/regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate non-conformances and propose resolution plans related to HSE issues.
• Monitor measurable quality objectives (KPIs) as outlined in the HSE & Quality policy and Company IMS Manual.
• Participate in safety audits, project meetings, and safety meetings.
• Drive a safety culture aligned with Wasco’s i-START Program / Wasco CARE Plus (Care KPI) across all locations, including head office and sites.
• Track and expedite actions from Wasco i-START / Wasco Care Plus initiatives (using Action Tracker & KPI).
• Attend customer safety meetings and site audits as the company representative for HSE.
• Conduct regular internal HSE training sessions.
• Develop facility and project-specific HSE plans.
• Assist operations and projects in risk identification, risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis, and Method Statements.
• Compile and submit monthly HSE reports for all locations.
• Investigate breaches of HSE policies, incidents, near misses, and accidents.
• Maintain HSE statistics, training records, and compliance documentation.
• Liaise with QHSE Manager and corporate HSE team to ensure adherence to group policies.
• Align all HSE activities with group standards.
• Develop HSE deliverables for bids and projects based on specifications.
• Perform daily HSE inspections at WEIL facilities and subcontractor sites in UAE.
• Conduct HSE audits at WEIL and subcontractor facilities.
• Manage vendor and subcontractor HSE pre-qualifications and performance reviews.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks.
• Update CARE Cards logs and follow up on corrective actions.
• Organize and participate in emergency response drills, desktop exercises, and mock drills.
• Implement various HSE campaigns and initiatives as part of Wasco Care+ Program.
• Plan and conduct in-house HSE training sessions.
• Prepare incident notifications, investigation reports, and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with yard RC Champions and supervisors for inspections, audits, and implementing corrective actions.
