Job description

General Purpose

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our infrastructure. This role also includes team leadership, collaboration with systems and security teams, and designing, building, and securing our infrastructure.

Essential Duties

Implement products, platforms, software, hardware, or appliance-based solutions related to enterprise network and security. Resolve complex problems impacting the business. Collaborate with management and vendors to develop innovative solutions to meet business needs.

Design, implement, and support Campus, Cloud, Data Center, Multi-site WAN/SDWAN, migrations, and buildouts, including disaster recovery planning. Coordinate network maintenance, installations, changes, and updates following the Change Control Process. Perform network modeling, capacity planning, analysis, performance tuning, and configuration optimization. Analyze network security threats. Utilize network tools for administration, maintenance, automation, and reporting.

Develop technical network solutions and frameworks. Document deployments, configurations, and management of network infrastructure. Participate in IT audits to ensure controls are in place. Build relationships with other business units to understand needs. Communicate complex technical details clearly. Advocate for end users and stakeholders by understanding product and user needs.

Education
BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Skills/Knowledge

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in IT, configuring and installing network devices and services (e.g., automation, cloud, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
• Azure Architect or AWS Solutions Architect certifications are a plus.
• Advanced skills with L2 and L3 protocols and technologies such as IPSec, VPN, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, SPBm, QoS, 802.1x.
• Familiarity with Aruba Wireless, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 ADCs, and open standards.
• Knowledge of Juniper and Extreme routing/switching equipment is advantageous.
• Experience with open-source tools for monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, flexible schedule, including availability for nights and weekends.
