Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer MV Cabling to lead end-to-end design, sizing, installation supervision and testing of 1 kV to 36 kV underground cable networks for mega-projects, ensuring safety, thermal efficiency and compliance with DEWA/SEWA ADDC standards.

The role emphasizes field oversight during excavation, cable pulling, terminations and joints, with a strong focus on quality, compliance and coordination with project teams across utilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8-12 years of direct experience in high-voltage/medium-voltage power distribution networks, underground cabling infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Execute cable pulling, tension, and Sidewall Bearing Pressure (SWBP).
• Perform physics calculations using specialized software to prevent installation damage.
• Establish cable routing layouts, trench profiles, underground duct banks, and cable tray configurations.
• Ensure appropriate thermal separation and derating factors.
• Provide expert engineering oversight during site excavation, sand bedding, cable pulling, winch roller layouts, and backfilling.
• Inspect and approve critical field activities, MV terminations and underground joints using heat-shrink, cold-shrink, or GIS separable connectors.
