Job summary

DeepSource Technologies in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Senior MS SQL & Oracle Database Engineer to manage critical database infrastructure in a banking environment. The role requires extensive hands-on experience with MS SQL Server and Oracle databases, including on-premises clustering, replication, DR, and performance tuning.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, handle incidents, and perform root-cause analysis while maintaining compliance with banking

Qualifications

• Banking experience mandatory.
• 10+ years of total IT experience.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on MS SQL and Oracle experience.
• Strong on-premises MS SQL clustering experience.
• Strong Oracle clustering experience.
• Hands-on replication and DR experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning of MS SQL queries.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support MS SQL Server and Oracle databases in a banking environment.
• Manage on-premises MS SQL and Oracle database clusters.
• Configure and support database clustering, replication, and DR environments.
• Support replication between primary production and DR sites.
• Troubleshoot availability, performance, and connectivity issues.
• Perform advanced MS SQL query tuning and bottleneck analysis.
• Analyze query execution and optimize performance.
• Ensure high availability and reliability of database environments.
• Support incidents and root-cause analysis for database issues.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, app, network, and other teams to resolve problems.
