Job summary

tech carrot, a Dubai-based technology partner, seeks a senior backend engineer to design, develop, and operate scalable microservices using Node.js and TypeScript. You will deploy and manage on Azure AKS, publish APIs with APIM, and integrate with diverse systems.

Strong API security and CI/CD practices are essential. Responsibilities include building RESTful services, implementing OpenAPI specs, and ensuring code quality through reviews and automated tests.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Node.js and TypeScript backend development.
• Experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on with Azure services, especially AKS, API Management, and Key Vault.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes concepts.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of API security best practices and OWASP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build API-first solutions using REST standards and OpenAPI specifications.
• Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Publish, secure, and manage APIs using Azure API Management (APIM).
• Integrate backend services with internal and external systems using synchronous and asynchronous patterns.
• Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and Azure AD.
• Ensure high code quality through testing, reviews, and CI/CD automation.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and tracing using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams.
