Job summary

AL TAIF seeks a Lab Analyst Supervisor with metallurgical engineering expertise to supervise lab analysts and lead reliability and material testing initiatives for vehicle and weapons systems. The role focuses on evaluating materials, facilitating design changes, and ensuring compliance with acceptance standards.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in science or related field, substantial experience with SEM/XRF/XRD, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Science or associate’s degree in chemistry, physics, metallurgy, or materials engineering.
• An in-depth knowledge of material processes; understanding and experience operating failure analysis tools such as SEM, XRF and XRD; specimen preparation; and physical material testing equipment is required.
• Master degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of Lab Analysts within the FAMTL and act as the metallurgical engineering expert.
• Review methodologies used in developing reliability predictions and test procedures.
• Monitor state-of-the-art technology in reliability, maintainability and testing.
• Review data from tests to isolate problems in design, materials, and usage.
• Advise design teams on changes affecting quality and reliability.
• Develop and enforce acceptance standards to prevent substandard materials.
