The Role

Surbana Jurong (SJ) is seeking a Senior Medical Equipment Planner to join our team in Abu Dhabi on a part-time basis.

As a Senior Medical Equipment Planner, you will collaborate with Healthcare Architecture, Interior Design, and Building Engineering teams on large-scale healthcare projects in the Middle East, while mentoring junior healthcare facility designers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing deliverables for the medical equipment planning team within the project schedule
• Advising medical planners on medical planning processes to create operational department floor plans
• Serving as the main client contact for medical equipment planning issues
• Guiding discussions on medical equipment needs
• Working with end users to layout medical equipment in clinical rooms, understanding workflows
• Developing item-by-item and room-by-room medical equipment BOQ
• Coordinating disciplines related to medical equipment requirements and planning
• Engaging in problem solving, teamwork, and visualization to produce detailed drawings
• Preparing planning presentations, diagrams, narratives, and specifications
• Providing planning, design, and coordination support for projects and pursuits

Experience, Skills, and Personal Attributes:

• Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering (Master's preferred)
• 7-10 years’ experience in medical equipment planning for healthcare facilities
• Understanding of medical equipment use and maintenance
• Knowledge of healthcare trends
• Experience with documentation techniques, tools, and principles in healthcare projects
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
• Leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Proficiency in REVIT, MS Office, Blue Beam
• Willingness to travel across the Middle East
