The position requires strong practical knowledge of pressure-retaining systems and the ability to identify deterioration such as corrosion, leakage, cracking, deformation, flange defects, and other mechanical abnormalities. Accurate execution of maintenance and inspection work helps protect equipment integrity, reduce unplanned downtime, and support safe offshore production. As a senior technical resource, the technician will also guide junior personnel in static equipment handling, safe maintenance practices, inspection methods, and correct use of tools and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on static mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain vessels, tanks, columns, heat exchangers, piping systems, utility packages, and associated pressure-retaining equipment.
  • Conduct internal and external inspections of assigned static equipment.
  • Replace gaskets and carry out controlled bolt tightening according to approved procedures.
  • Repair leaks and support flange management activities across piping and equipment connections.
  • Perform nozzle replacement, mechanical fit-up, and associated repair work when required.
  • Dismantle, clean, inspect, reassemble, and test air coolers, strainers, filters, receivers, and pig traps.
  • Support integrity inspection programs covering thickness measurements and equipment condition assessment.
  • Participate in investigation of corrosion, deformation, cracks, leaks, and other structural or mechanical abnormalities.
  • Provide field information to engineers during integrity evaluations and repair assessments.
  • Participate in confined space entry activities for internal inspection of vessels and columns during shutdowns.
  • Follow approved confined space entry requirements and maintain strict safety compliance throughout the work.
  • Diagnose failures affecting static equipment systems and determine probable root causes.
  • Carry out corrective actions following inspection, troubleshooting, or engineering recommendations.
  • Assist with complex mechanical problems involving valves, piping, attachments, and utility packages.
  • Recommend practical improvements that reduce recurrence of equipment failures.
  • Participate in commissioning and startup of newly installed or modified static equipment.
  • Review relevant project documentation, drawings, equipment manuals, and technical information before handover.
  • Support completion of project punch lists and confirm mechanical readiness before equipment startup.
  • Assist commissioning teams during equipment testing and safe energization activities.
  • Perform routine equipment condition checks including temperature readings and leak detection.
  • Conduct basic vibration checks where required as part of predictive maintenance activities.
  • Carry out lubrication and structural inspection tasks according to maintenance requirements.
  • Execute preventive maintenance activities according to MAXIMO schedules.
  • Provide feedback to planners when maintenance frequencies, work scopes, or task requirements need improvement.
  • Conduct hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, and package pressure testing under appropriate supervision.
  • Ensure testing activities follow approved procedures and safety requirements.
  • Identify required spare parts, gaskets, materials, consumables, and repair components before maintenance work begins.
  • Ensure static equipment components are handled, preserved, and stored correctly.
  • Maintain tools, lifting devices, mechanical equipment, and assigned PPE in safe working condition.
  • Report defective tools or equipment and arrange repair or replacement through the appropriate process.
