Job summary

Mirage in Dubai is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to lead on-site inspection and testing of mechanical installations, ensuring adherence to drawings and specs. The role requires coordinating with design teams and approving submittals, while guiding a team of inspectors on site.

The candidate will oversee testing, commissioning, and non-conformance resolution, with emphasis on health and safety compliance and effective reporting to project management and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in mechanical inspection or site engineering within construction.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting and mechanical installation standards.
• Experience managing inspection and testing processes for mechanical systems.
• UAE experience preferred; KSA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the inspection of mechanical installations, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Review and approve contractor method statements, shop drawings and material submittals for mechanical works.
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Manage the identification and resolution of mechanical non-conformances.
• Supervise and mentor mechanical inspectors on site.
• Coordinate with design teams to resolve mechanical technical queries and site issues.
• Prepare mechanical inspection and progress reports for project management and clients.
• Support the verification of mechanical materials and equipment against approved specifications.
• Monitor contractor compliance with health and safety requirements during mechanical works.
