Job summary

Bureau Veritas do Brasil requires a Senior Mechanical Inspector to lead inspection of oil and gas field projects in Abu Dhabi. The role centers on rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, compressors) and associated static systems, ensuring alignment and adherence to project procedures.

Candidates should hold a Mechanical Engineering qualification with 10+ years in the field, and demonstrate strong English, standards knowledge (ASME/API/ASTM), and UAE driving license.

Qualifications

• More than 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas field projects including rotating equipment and machinery such as pumps, turbines, compressors, and engines.
• Experience as Site TPI for inspection and monitoring of mechanical works related to rotating and static equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, datasheets, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic, mechanical run tests and alignment checks.
• Monitor welding, fabrication, assembly and erection, in line with WPS, PQR and project specs.
• Verify material certificates, ITRs and documentation per ITPs.
• Strong English written and spoken skills for technical reporting.
• Familiarity with international mechanical standards (ASME, API, ASTM, BS).
• Holding UAE Driving license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee rotating equipment and static equipment installation and alignment per project procedures.
• Witness and witness tests (hydrostatic, pneumatic, mechanical run tests) and alignments.
• Monitor welding, fabrication, assembly, and erection; ensure compliance with WPS/PQR and specs.
• Verify ITRs, material certificates and documentation per ITPs.
• Interpret drawings, datasheets, P&IDs and technical specifications to support inspections.

• More than 10 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas field projects including experience in activities relevant to rotating equipment and machinery, including pumps, turbines, compressors, and engines.
• Must be experienced as Site TPI for inspection and monitoring of mechanical works related to rotating (pumps, compressors, turbines) and static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, boilers).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, datasheets, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Ensure equipment is installed and aligned per manufacturer specifications and project procedures (shaft alignment, grouting, soft foot, etc.).
• Witness equipment testing such as hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, mechanical run tests, and alignment checks.
• Monitor welding, fabrication, assembly, and erection of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with WPS, PQR, and project specifications.
• Verify material certificates, inspection and test reports (ITRs), and documentation as per ITPs.
• Very good knowledge of spoken and written English language including writing of technical reports.
• Computer literate and familiarity with International Standards related to Mechanical activities (ASME, API, ASTM, BS, etc.)
• Holding UAE Driving license.
