The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Static) to join our Iraq Operations Business. This role is full-time and residential based in Sharjah, UAE.

Job Objective

Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence by:

  • Executing assigned scopes of work
  • Providing discipline expertise
  • Supporting and supervising team tasks
  • Using technical knowledge to produce engineering deliverables, solving complex problems, and serving as discipline technical authority on small to medium projects

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Executing Assigned Scopes of Work

  • Participate as a team member in engineering phases
  • Prepare project documentation
  • Ensure project completion within budget and schedule
  • Define engineering approaches, plan, and schedule work
  • Evaluate problems and establish performance specifications
  • Check calculations and drawings per industry standards
  • Adhere to procedures and participate in audits and reviews

Providing discipline expertise

  • Develop new approaches and exercise professional judgment
  • Function as technical leader or contributor on complex problems
  • Develop innovative solutions and anticipate problems
  • Apply technical solutions to meet client needs

Supporting and Supervising task delegation to team

  • Supervise small work groups or provide technical guidance
  • Assist in managerial tasks such as planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Manage small projects with responsibility for cost, schedule, and resources

Working Relationships

Internal:

  • Develop collaborative relationships within and across projects and functions
  • Promote discipline and knowledge sharing

External:

  • Maintain awareness of external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain client relationships
