Job summary

Egis Group in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead supervision of all mechanical works during construction. You will ensure compliance with project specifications, authority requirements and quality standards, with focus on immersive environments and themed facilities.

The role requires extensive experience in theme parks, water parks, immersive environments and large-scale interior fit-outs, plus strong MEP knowledge and client coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE registration or membership preferred.
• Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience with 5+ years in construction supervision/consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical construction activities including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, gas, and specialist systems.
• Ensure works follow IFC drawings, project specs, shop drawings and contract requirements.
• Review contractor submissions (shop drawings, submittals, method statements, technical queries).
• Conduct site inspections to verify quality, design intent and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate interfaces with architecture, interior design, and other mechanical systems.

Position Overview

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the supervision and inspection of all mechanical works during the construction phase ensuring compliance with the approved design project specifications authority requirements and quality standards. The role requires significant experience in theme parks attractions themed entertainment developments and interior design projects with a strong understanding of the unique MEP requirements associated with immersive environments show buildings themed facilities and guest experience areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all mechanical construction activities including HVAC plumbing drainage firefighting fuel systems Gas systems and specialty mechanical installations.
• Ensure mechanical works are executed in accordance with IFC drawings project specifications approved shop drawings and contract requirements.
• Review and provide comments on contractor submissions including shop drawings material submittals method statements and technical queries.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with quality standards design intent and applicable codes and regulations.
• Monitor installation of HVAC systems serving themed environments attractions show buildings special effects areas and guest facilities.
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with architectural interior design theming structural electrical and specialist systems.
• Review and assess contractor proposals related to value engineering constructability and alternative technical solutions.
• Supervise testing commissioning TAB (Testing Adjusting & Balancing) integrated systems testing and final handover activities.
• Ensure mechanical systems supporting themed attractions and special effects are installed and commissioned in accordance with operational requirements.
• Participate in technical meetings with the Client Contractor Operators Designers and Specialty Vendors.
• Review and resolve site non-conformances design conflicts and construction issues.
• Verify that life safety systems smoke management systems clean agent systems and mechanical fire protection interfaces meet project and authority requirements.
• Prepare inspection reports technical assessments progress reports and recommendations.
• Support authority approvals testing and inspections with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineering registration or membership in a recognized engineering institution is preferred.
• Minimum 15years of post-graduate experience including at least 5 years in construction supervision consultancy roles.
• Proven experience in major mixed-use hospitality entertainment leisure or themed projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design construction testing commissioning and operational requirements.
• Experience with UAE authority requirements and international mechanical engineering standards.
• Excellent communication coordination and report-writing skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office AutoCAD Revit and BIM-based project delivery.
