Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead site supervision on large-scale UAE projects. You will review and approve mechanical drawings, coordinate with contractors and consultants, and supervise testing and commissioning across HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing systems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and 12 years in the field, including 7 in the UAE, with strong leadership and communication skills for effective stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering with at least 7 years in the UAE in site supervision roles.
• Strong experience in villas, high-rise buildings, or residential projects.
• Full knowledge of UAE construction standards, authority procedures and mechanical design guidelines.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office; Revit knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and consultants for seamless project execution.
• Respond to RFIs and provide technical clarifications as needed.
• Attend progress, coordination and technical meetings.
• Supervise testing and commissioning activities for HVAC, fire protection, plumbing and related systems.
• Ensure all testing documentation, checklists and certificates are completed.
• Support final handover documentation, snagging and desnagging activities.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and site inspection reports.
• Maintain logs for materials, drawings, RFIs and approvals.
• Review contractor progress and provide input for project scheduling.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our site supervision team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in overseeing mechanical works on large-scale construction projects ensuring compliance with project specifications local authority standards and international codes. This role requires strong technical expertise leadership capability and efficient coordination with stakeholders to deliver highquality project execution.

Your role
