Job summary

Simba Talent is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a Dubai-based team focused on downhole and completion tools for global oil and gas applications. You will own the full design lifecycle from concept through qualification and support manufacturing, testing and field adaptation.

The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering, 10+ years in oilfield equipment design, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD/CADWorx) and experience with API standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years experience designing oilfield equipment.
• Strong background in downhole tools and completion equipment.
• Understanding of completion equipment design calculations.
• Knowledge of API manufacturing principles and packer design (API 11D1).
• Experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx or similar CAD packages.
• Experience with manufacturing, assembly, testing and qualification.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop downhole and completion equipment.
• Produce and review drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
• Lead design reviews and support new product development activities.
• Define design acceptance criteria in line with product and customer requirements.
• Support prototype manufacture, assembly, testing and product qualification.
• Develop assembly, disassembly and redress procedures.
• Prepare engineering test requests and technical reports.
• Work closely with manufacturing, operations and management throughout the product lifecycle.
• Manage engineering modifications and ensure design changes are communicated.
