Job summary

LevelUP HCS is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer – Bearings, Sumps & Oil Systems in Abu Dhabi to lead rotating system design across bearing chambers, sump structures, and oil feed/scavenge networks for advanced gas turbine propulsion architectures.

You will collaborate with stress, thermal, and test engineers to ensure performance, reliability, and certification readiness across military and commercial engine programs, while driving manufacturability and maintainability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering is required.
• Master's degree preferred, particularly in rotating machinery, thermal systems, or tribology.
• 5–15 years of experience in designing bearing, sump, or oil system components within aerospace or turbomachinery.
• Experience supporting components through concept development, testing, certification, and field support.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of bearing compartments, sump housings, oil nozzles, scavenge features, and support structures for rotating shafts and engine modules.
• Develop and manage 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for oil feed and scavenge systems, bearing supports, and sump pressurization.
• Collaborate with stress and thermal teams to evaluate fatigue, oil coking, heat rejection, and vibration-induced wear.
• Design and integrate dynamic sealing technologies and oil routing strategies with maintainability in mind.
• Support manufacturing with DFM, tolerances, interfaces, and joining methods; participate in engine build and test readiness.
• Prepare technical documentation, design reports, tolerance analyses, and support FAA/EASA certification.
