Purpose of the Job
To manage the tax strategy, compliance, and advisory functions including VAT, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, and Transfer Pricing. The role ensures full alignment with local and international tax laws, accurate tax reporting, and risk mitigation.
Job Accountabilities
Tax Management:
- Manage the company's tax compliance across all areas including VAT, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, and Transfer Pricing.
- Analyze and interpret tax laws to provide guidance on business transactions and cross-border operations.
- Manage and implement effective tax planning strategies to optimize tax positions while ensuring legal compliance.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
VAT Compliance & Advisory:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and reconciliation of VAT returns in accordance with applicable laws.
- Review VAT treatment of domestic and international transactions, including imports, exports, and intercompany supplies.
- Review tax invoices and documentation to ensure compliance with VAT regulations.
- Maintain robust documentation to support input VAT claims and zero-rated supplies.
Transfer Pricing (TP):
- Manage Transfer Pricing policies and documentation for intercompany transactions, ensuring alignment with local regulations.
- Work closely with business and finance teams to develop appropriate TP models and defendable pricing strategies.
- Support audits and respond to queries from tax authorities.
Tax Accounting & Reporting:
- Oversee the reconciliation of tax returns (VAT, Corporate Tax) with books of accounts.
- Ensure proper accounting of tax liabilities and deferred tax as per applicable accounting standards.
- Review tax-related journal entries and disclosures in financial statements.
Other Responsibilities:
- Mentor and support junior tax staff and build internal tax capabilities.
- Perform other ad hoc administrative or strategic duties as assigned by Line Manager or Senior Management.
Qualifications
Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years in a tax-focused role, including VAT & Transfer Pricing.
Tax Knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge of VAT, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, and OECD guidelines.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), and tax software.
Soft Skills
Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and stakeholder management.

Ability to manage deadlines independently, with high accuracy and integrity.
