Job summary

WhiteCrow Research is seeking a Senior Manager - Stage Direction to lead artistic and creative direction for live daily productions in themed environments. You will supervise show staff, develop production processes, and contribute to special events, ensuring safety and quality across performances.

The role requires 5+ years directing live entertainment, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of stage production, with a track record in theatre, theme parks, or festivals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years directing live entertainment shows, productions, or events.
• Degree or professional training in Dance or Theatre.
• Strong scriptwriting, live stage production, and costume design knowledge.
• Experience with video/audio production is preferred.
• Excellent leadership, presentation, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Entertainment Director by coordinating with Production, Technical, and Wardrobe Managers.
• Manage artistic and creative elements of live daily productions.
• Direct Assistant Show Directors, Performance Captains, and staff.
• Develop processes and documentation for show development.
• Provide creative input for events and external rentals.
• Maintain resource library for production and development.
• Lead creative efforts for marquee events and seasonal productions.
• Ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance.
• Develop cross-training and seasonal promotion opportunities.
• Perform other duties requested by Management.

As a Senior Manager - Stage Direction, you will be responsible for...

• Supporting the Entertainment Director by working closely with the Production Manager, Technical Manager, and Wardrobe Manager to ensure shows are being produced and presented while taking all park requirements into consideration.
• Managing the artistic and creative elements of all live daily productions through their development, operation, and continuous enhancement.
• Managing and directing Assistant Show Directors, Performance Captains, Junior Choreographers, and all other live show staff.
• Developing and documenting all processes and procedures for the development of shows, including scripts, blocking charts, music recordings, and other materials being used to produce the shows.
• Providing creative input for special events and external rental/corporate events as required.
• Maintaining a library of resource materials associated with the production and creative development of entertainment.
• Leading the creative efforts for marquee events and seasonal productions.
• Understanding and actively participating in environmental, health, and safety compliance.
• Developing cross-training and seasonal promotion opportunities for staff and cast members.
• Performing any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Management Team.

What you already have...

• Education: University degree, diploma, or professional training in Dance or Theatre; Master’s in Theatrical Studies or Business Administration is desirable.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience directing live entertainment shows, productions, or events in theme parks, theatres, festivals, or special events.
• Creative Expertise: Strong knowledge of scriptwriting, live stage production, choreography, costume design/development, and themed live shows; video/audio production experience preferred.
• Performance & Leadership Skills: Professional training in dance, stunts, or acting, with strong presentation, communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and multi-project management skills.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related tools; music editing/mixing, Photoshop, and video editing skills desirable.
