Job summary

Al Ghurair is seeking an IT Senior Project Manager to oversee end-to-end delivery of critical programs and changes, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes aligned to business needs. You will manage stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams to deploy solutions with operational handover and measurable adoption.

Responsibilities include defining delivery strategy, governance, managing budgets, and ensuring automation and data analytics are embedded in projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience delivering programs / application projects with ownership of scope, schedule and budget.
• Preferred: 15 years delivering enterprise application implementations.

Job description

The IT Senior Project Manager –will manages the delivery of critical projects end-to-end , and changes, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes aligned to business needs. The role manages stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams, and ensures Programs/ solutions/projects are deployed safely with complete operational handover and measurable adoption.

Responsibilities

STRATEGIC:

1. Own delivery strategy for assigned Programs / Projects application initiatives (GBS, ERP/CRM/HCM/finance apps, enterprise SaaS, integrations, workflow platforms), selecting an appropriate delivery method (agile/waterfall/hybrid).

2.Establish application project governance: steering cadence, decision forums, change control, RAID standards, and clear acceptance criteria with business owners.

3. Drive portfolio alignment for assigned projects by managing dependencies across applications, integrations, data, and shared platforms

4. Partner with Business stakeholders, Architecture, Security, and Data to ensure solution designs meet enterprise standards (integration patterns, data controls, auditability, non-functional requirements)..

5. Lead vendor delivery , across multiple stakeholders following Project governance structure or application partners (SOW/SLA adherence, delivery quality, commercials tracking, and escalation management).

6.Tracking vendors as per SOW deliverables , milestone payments, managing and maintaining program /porject plan, budget , contract , procurement , steerco and managemnet update decks.

7.All deliveries to be looked from perspective of Automation, AI & Data analytics

OPERATIONAL:

1. Lead discovery and requirements: facilitate workshops, document functional/non-functional requirements, define scope, and establish baseline plan (schedule, resources, budget).
2. Manage system/ program / application delivery design coordination, build/config oversight, integration coordination, environment readiness, and release planning.
3. Plan and execute UAT approach, test cycles, defect triage, entry/exit criteria, and business sign-off management.
4. Manage data and cutover: migration planning, reconciliation approach, cutover runbooks, rollback planning, and go-live readiness checkpoints.
5. Ensure service transition: coordinate training, knowledge transfer, support model, SOP/runbook creation, and hypercare with clear ownership and SLAs.
6. Maintain strong project controls: weekly status, RAID logs, dependency tracking, issue escalation, and transparent communication to sponsors and PMO.
7. Preparing management update and action tracking.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

1. Lead a matrix team of team members transition, chnage , application analysts, developers/configurators, integration engineers, QA, business SMEs, and vendors by setting clear outcomes and delivery discipline.
2. Build delivery accountability through clear RACI, regular ceremonies (standups/weekly checkpoints), and performance follow-up on actions and decisions.

PRODUCT / PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:

1. Standardize application delivery templates (BRD/FRD, user stories, UAT packs, cutover checklist, handover checklist) to improve consistency and reduce rework.
2. Improve release predictability by strengthening change control, environment management, and dependency mapping across applications and integrations.
3. Enhance operational stability by enforcing “definition of done” including documentation, monitoring requirements, and service transition readiness.
4. Program management , tracking and reporting as PMO processes.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Minimum: Bachelors in IT, PMP or PRINCE2, Agile certification (CSM/PSM/SAFe)

Preferred: Project Management Certification

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: Minimum of 10 years of experience delivering programs / application projects/changes with ownership of scope/schedule/budget and cross-functional coordination

Preferred: Minimum of 15 years of experience in delivering enterprise application implementations
