Job summary

Dubai Holding’s real estate arm seeks a senior mechanical engineering leader to drive design and delivery across major developments in Dubai.

You will oversee HVAC, district cooling, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection, manage consultants and contractors, and ensure UAE regulatory compliance with a focus on value engineering and lifecycle costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
• 12–15+ years in mechanical building services or large-scale projects; 5+ years in senior leadership.
• Proven track record from concept through handover.
• Strong HVAC, district cooling, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection expertise.
• Experience with UAE authority requirements and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering across real estate development projects from concept to handover.
• Review designs, BIM models, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
• Oversee HVAC, district cooling, plumbing, drainage, fire protection and related systems.
• Manage consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Drive value engineering, due diligence, constructability reviews, and lifecycle cost optimization.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, fire and life-safety standards.
• Lead testing, commissioning, authority inspections, and project handover activities.
• Support procurement, tender evaluations, variations, and claims.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to project teams.

About the Job:

• Lead mechanical engineering activities across multiple real estate development projects from concept design through handover.
• Review and manage mechanical designs, specifications, BIM models, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.
• Oversee HVAC, district cooling, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and associated building services systems.
• Manage mechanical consultants, contractors, specialist suppliers, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive value engineering, technical due diligence, constructability reviews, and lifecycle cost optimization initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, authority requirements, fire and life-safety standards, and sustainability objectives.
• Monitor project progress and proactively manage technical, cost, quality, and programme risks.
• Lead testing, commissioning, authority inspections, operational readiness, and project handover activities.
• Support procurement, tender evaluations, technical assessments, variations, claims, and commercial decision-making.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to project teams while promoting technical excellence and continuous improvement.

About you:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution; Master's Degree is advantageous.
• 12-15+ years of experience in mechanical building services, real estate developments, or major infrastructure projects, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience managing projects from concept/design through tender, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Strong expertise in HVAC, district cooling, plumbing, drainage, firefighting systems, and building management systems.
• Experience managing consultants and contractors across both design and construction phases.
• Strong knowledge of UAE authority requirements, including Dubai Municipality, DCD, DEWA, and associated approval processes.
• Experience with design reviews, technical governance, tender evaluations, value engineering, and contract administration.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, variations, claims, and procurement activities.
• Proficiency in BIM-enabled coordination and project delivery within large-scale UAE/GCC developments
