The Senior Manager, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) is accountable for designing, implementing, and overseeing HSE strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace. This leadership role drives risk management, ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, prevents incidents, and cultivates a strong safety-first culture throughout all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- HSE Strategy & Policy Implementation: Develop, execute, and monitor comprehensive HSE strategies and policies aligned with industry best practices and legal standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards such as OSHA, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
- Training & Safety Culture: Design and deliver effective HSE training programs to promote awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Incident & Emergency Management: Lead incident investigations, establish robust emergency response plans, and implement measures to mitigate future risks.
- Environmental Sustainability: Drive environmental initiatives to reduce the organization’s environmental footprint and achieve sustainability goals.
- Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend corrective actions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Timely completion of risk assessments and corrective action plans.
- Readiness and effectiveness of emergency response protocols.
- Reduction in environmental impact metrics.
- Improvement in incident rates and compliance scores.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HSE management, including at least 5 years in a senior or leadership position.
- Proven expertise in high-risk sectors such as construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, or large-scale events.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other relevant HSE frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in developing and rolling out HSE policies, training programs, and safety initiatives.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and crisis management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, incident reporting systems, and risk assessment tools.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage for GCC-based roles.
