Primary DetailsTime Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeThe purpose of this role is to lead the Product for the relevant Branch office ensuring delivery of the agreed allocation of the Product business plan and managing the Underwriting Team. This role involves underwriting business in line with the business plan managing a team of Underwriters and overseeing a Profit and Loss Statement across major product lines. Additionally the role includes engagement with senior underwriting leaders supporting portfolio development plans contributing to the Regional Underwriting Board and ensuring governance legal and regulatory oversight.

Your new role

  • Develop and communicate a strategic vision for department growth.
  • Manage the underwriting team to ensure risk quality and proper insurance to value.
  • Foster a collaborative approach to growing the business.
  • Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines following regulations.
  • Leverage technical expertise to expand customer base in collaboration with sales and marketing.
  • Drive standardisation of underwriting across assigned business line(s).
  • Capitalise on opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Develop sustainable underwriting operations for business line(s).

About you

  • Minimum of 6 years experience as a Financial Lines Underwriter/Broker.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Communication influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize achieve targets and deadlines analytical and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language/ Arabic language is a nice to have.
  • Knowledge of local insurance industry regulations and statutory processes.
  • Ability to manage a team.
