Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager - Consumables, Chemicals & Fasteners. This is a leadership role responsible for developing and executing the overarching Commodity strategy for the Consumables, Chemicals & Fasteners Commodity. This role will oversee a team of Supply Chain professionals focused on strategic sourcing, establishing long-term framework agreements, and ensuring alignment with the company's goals and programs plans. This role is ideal for a strategic and results-oriented procurement professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to driving excellence in Commodity management and strategic sourcing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Commodity Strategy Development:
    Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive commodity strategy that drives value creation, cost savings, and risk mitigation.
  2. Monitor and analyze the commodity markets, global economic conditions, supplier landscapes, and industry benchmarks to inform strategy and decision-making.
  3. Awareness and implementation of Commodity tools and processes to create a robust strategy to support the dynamic landscape of the Organization.
  4. Turn strategy into operational reality and drive results.
  5. Team Leadership and Development:
    Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Supply Chain professionals focused on strategic sourcing and commodity management.
  6. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth.
  7. Support the Commodity Director with wider business initiatives.
  8. Strategic Sourcing and Execution:
    Oversee the end-to-end strategic sourcing process, including supplier selection, RFx process, contract negotiation, and establishing strategic framework agreements for Direct Commodities requirements.
  9. Ensure that all procurement activities align with the programs plans and its development, supporting the company's long-term objectives and customer commitments.
  10. Contract Negotiation:
    Lead the negotiation and establishment of long-term contracts and strategic framework agreements, ensuring they are in place to support the strategic goals of the organization.
  11. A solid understanding of negotiation strategies to secure favorable outcomes for the business.
  12. Stakeholder Engagement:
    Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams, to ensure alignment on the Commodity strategy and objectives.
  13. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operational, and other relevant departments to set up contracts that facilitate seamless execution by the respective teams.
  14. Good influencing skills and able to manage a variety of relationships both horizontally and vertically.
  15. Be a change agent for Supply Chain.
  16. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of the Commodity strategies and team performance.
  17. Provide regular updates to Senior management on procurement activities, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  18. Manage risk proactively within the Supply Chain incorporating the use of risk registers / Kraljic methods and regular reviews with high-risk suppliers.
  19. Experience of implementing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) techniques/tools with Suppliers (RMMs, Score Cards, Monthly Performance Reviews (MPRs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Communication Plans, Supply Chain Resilience, etc).

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CIPS, CPSM).
  2. Master's Degree (Preferred in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; advanced or professional certification (e.g. CIPS, CPSM).
  3. 10+ years of experience in a senior procurement role with a focus on strategic sourcing and Commodity management.
  4. Aero/Defence exposure and experience would be highly beneficial.
  5. A good understanding of Export Control (including EAR) and INCOTERMS associated with moving the Aero/Defence Industry.
  6. Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  7. In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  8. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  9. Strategic thinker with the ability to drive change and deliver measurable results.
  10. A robust understanding and comprehension of Contract & Law.
  11. Experience in Consumables, Chemicals & Fasteners.
  12. Robust analytical and numerical skills.
  13. Good presentation skills and able to confidently present to Senior Management.
  14. Experience with working in Start-Ups.
  15. Experience with SAP & SAP Ariba.
