Aventus is working with a US-listed business that has extensive operations in the Middle East.

This is an opportunity for a qualified lawyer to join a multinational organization and take a lead on Sanctions matters.

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be part of the global legal team, reporting directly to the Deputy General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Providing subject matter expertise (sanctions, export controls, and OFAC compliance) to legal and business teams;
  2. Keeping abreast of important initiatives and changes by authorities and regulators, and disseminating relevant information to stakeholders;
  3. Assessing risk controls and adjusting procedures to ensure effective compliance, reporting, and escalation across the Group;
  4. Developing and delivering sanctions, export controls, and OFAC compliance training.
Education & Experience Required
  • Professionally qualified lawyer in good standing and/or a Master’s Degree in Law;
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in similar roles, preferably with a reputable international law firm, legal department of a private or public entity, regulatory organization, or international financial institution, demonstrating proven technical competence;
  • Fluent in English. Russian language skills are strongly beneficial but not mandatory.
