A leading company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with expertise in commercial law and procurement in Abu Dhabi. The role involves managing legal aspects of procurement contracts, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks in a highly regulated environment. Candidates should possess a law degree and at least 8 years of PQE in relevant sectors, especially nuclear or energy industries. We are currently recruiting a Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial law - Procurement to be based in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for providing strategic legal support and advice on procurement-related matters across various jurisdictions. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for the procurement of goods, services, and materials essential to operations, including but not limited to nuclear fuel, spare parts, manpower, and insurance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating legal risks associated with procurement activities. You will be in the range of 8-12 yrs PQE, holding a law degree (Juris Doctorate or equivalent) from a major law school and admitted as an attorney in the UK, Australia, New Zealand or similar jurisdiction.
Responsibilities :
Draft, review, and negotiate procurement contracts across multiple jurisdictions, including :
Purchase of nuclear fuel and related components.
Advise on legal considerations and compliance requirements for procurement transactions across various jurisdictions.
Assess and address differences in legal systems and procurement regulations in international markets.
Ensure that procurement activities comply with relevant regulatory frameworks, including export controls, nuclear safety regulations, and other applicable laws.
Stay informed on changes to international, regional, and local laws affecting procurement, including nuclear-specific regulations.
Identify and manage legal risks associated with procurement and supply chain activities.
