Senior Legal Counsel – Middle East (Dubai)

We are representing a leading multinational technology company in their search for a Senior Legal Counsel based in Dubai. This role provides end-to-end legal and compliance support across multiple jurisdictions in the MENA region (UAE, KSA, Qatar, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Pakistan, Tunisia, and more).

Responsibilities

• Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including distribution, supply, licensing, service, and project contracts.
• Project Support: Provide legal input and risk assessment for regional business initiatives, partnerships, and joint ventures.
• Corporate Governance: Support board and shareholder matters, entity establishment, corporate filings, and compliance with local company laws across MENA.
• Regulatory & Compliance: Advise on anti-bribery, anti-corruption, data protection, cybersecurity, labour laws, competition law, and product compliance regulations.
• Dispute Resolution: Manage litigation, arbitration, and settlement processes; work with external counsel where necessary.
• Stakeholder Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to sales, marketing, finance, HR, and operational teams on day-to-day legal issues.
• Policy & Training: Develop and deliver legal and compliance training for employees to strengthen awareness and adherence to company standards.
• Cross-border Collaboration: Coordinate with HQ Legal in Asia and with local entity managers to ensure consistency and compliance across all jurisdictions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (or equivalent legal qualification) from a nationally recognised law school.
• International exposure and/or a license to practice law in a recognised jurisdiction is highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5–8 years’ experience practicing corporate and commercial law, with a leading international or regional law firm or multinational companies in technology, electronics, or manufacturing sectors.
• Hands-on experience advising businesses operating across multiple jurisdictions, preferably within MENA.
• Technical Skills: Strong expertise in drafting and negotiating complex distribution, licensing, and project agreements.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate governance, compliance frameworks, and regulatory requirements in emerging markets.
• Experience managing disputes, litigation, and arbitration.
• Soft Skills: Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English; ability to draft clear and practical legal advice.
• Additional language proficiency (Chinese, Arabic, or French) is an advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
