Job summary

Jex Recruitment is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join an Abu Dhabi-based organisation, leading high-impact AI and Data Science initiatives. This hands-on leadership role translates complex business problems into DS solutions and ships projects from experimentation to production with measurable impact.

The role requires strong expertise in Python, SQL and ML, plus a track record of leading teams and collaborating with senior stakeholders to drive business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience across Data Science / Machine Learning
• Strong Python, SQL and Machine Learning expertise
• Proven experience taking models from experimentation into production
• Experience leading Data Scientists or technically leading complex projects
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to connect technical work to commercial outcomes
• Experience within FinTech, Banking or Financial Services would be highly advantageous
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning or a related quantitative field preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Data Science and Machine Learning projects
• Develop and deploy predictive models and advanced ML solutions
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to identify high-value AI/ML use cases
• Mentor and provide technical direction to Data Scientists
• Partner with Data Engineering and ML Engineering teams to productionise models
• Help shape the wider Data Science strategy, standards and roadmap
