Job summary

Halian is seeking a Software Engineer - Java Backend in Abu Dhabi to design and develop secure banking backend services and APIs. You will build scalable microservices using Java 17+, Spring Boot and Spring Cloud, and deploy them on Azure with AKS and related services.

You will collaborate with architects, DevOps, and security teams, implement OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, and maintain secure SDLC practices while contributing to CI/CD pipelines and regulated banking projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend development with Spring Boot microservices.
• Proven banking/fintech or financial services delivery.
• Experience with API gateways and enterprise integrations.
• Experience in regulated environments with security/compliance.
• CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud-native development.
• Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Build secure, scalable backend services and APIs.
• Develop RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specs.
• Deploy and support on Azure with AKS and cloud services.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps, security and product squads.
• Ensure OAuth 2.0/OIDC/JWT and secure coding standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
