IDS Logic Pvt Ltd invites applications for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to design, build and operate high-performance enterprise backend systems. You will own critical backend components, scale to millions of transactions per month and work on Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, PostgreSQL and Redis in an on-site Dubai environment.

You should have 15+ years of hands-on experience, strong systems thinking, and be able to address performance bottlenecks, data integrity and security.

Formación

Opening for Senior Java Backend Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer with 15+ years of relevant experience in designing, developing and operating high-performance enterprise backend systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, PostgreSQL, Redis, microservices and event-driven architecture.

The role involves owning the backend of a high-volume enterprise platform responsible for receiving, validating, storing and processing millions of transactions per month while maintaining strict data integrity, complete audit trails and low latency. Candidates must have hands‑on experience designing, building and operating production systems at this scale and be able to explain performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges and the solutions implemented.

This position requires on‑site work in Dubai, UAE, for a minimum period of six months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain scalable Spring Boot microservices with clear domain boundaries and well‑defined service responsibilities.
• Implement strict input validation, consistent error handling using RFC 7807‑style responses and reliable transactional behaviour.
• Ensure business rules, data integrity and validation are enforced at the backend level.
• Build and maintain production‑grade services capable of processing millions of transactions per month.
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas for high‑volume transactional systems.
• Implement effective indexing, table partitioning and query optimisation strategies.
• Analyse and optimise database queries using EXPLAIN and performance profiling techniques.
• Manage database migrations, transaction isolation, connection pooling and zero‑downtime schema changes.
• Maintain reliable performance for databases containing hundreds of millions of rows.

Caching & Distributed Coordination

• Implement Redis for caching, idempotency keys, rate limiting and distributed coordination.
• Design and manage distributed locks, queue or stream patterns and hot‑path lookups.
• Define caching strategies, eviction policies, consistency requirements and failure‑handling mechanisms.
• Monitor Redis performance, memory usage, persistence and clustering behaviour.

Event‑Driven Processing & Messaging

• Develop reliable asynchronous processing pipelines using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Redis Streams or equivalent technologies.
• Implement outbox patterns, retry mechanisms and dead‑letter handling.
• Prevent transaction loss and duplication through reliable message‑processing and idempotency strategies.
• Apply event sourcing, CQRS or append‑only ledger patterns where appropriate.

API Development & Integration

• Design and maintain secure, versioned REST APIs using OpenAPI‑first development practices.
• Integrate backend services with Flutter applications, API gateways, middleware and external partner systems.
• Work with WSO2, Kong, Azure API Management or equivalent integration platforms.
• Implement OAuth2, OpenID Connect, webhook integrations and secure partner communication.
• Maintain consistent API contracts, authentication and authorisation mechanisms.

Reliability, Monitoring & Performance

• Implement structured logging, metrics and distributed tracing across backend services.
• Define service‑level objectives (SLOs) and support production reliability initiatives.
• Conduct load testing, capacity planning and performance optimisation.
• Diagnose production issues using telemetry and monitoring tools.
• Participate in incident response and improve service resilience in Microsoft Azure environments.

Security & Audit Management

• Implement role‑based access control and secure authentication and authorisation mechanisms.
• Maintain reliable audit trails and robust data‑integrity controls.
• Apply secure secrets management and appropriate security controls for regulated environments.
• Follow secure coding practices, including relevant OWASP recommendations.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Develop unit, integration and contract tests for backend services.
• Participate in rigorous code reviews and enforce engineering quality standards.
• Provide reproducible test environments, fixtures and documentation for functional and performance testing teams.
• Ensure backend services meet reliability, security and performance requirements.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead technical discussions and contribute to backend architecture decisions.
• Document architecture decision records (ADRs), technical designs and functional specifications.
• Mentor engineers and promote clean code, maintainability and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable enterprise solutions.

Must‑Have Skills & Experience

• Experience: 15+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, with demonstrable hands‑on ownership of production Java backend systems processing millions of transactions per month or more.
• Java & Spring Boot: Strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Security, Spring Cache, Bean Validation and Spring Boot Actuator.
• Java Fundamentals: Strong understanding of concurrency, memory management, multithreading and JVM performance tuning.
• PostgreSQL: Advanced expertise in database schema design, indexing, partitioning, EXPLAIN‑driven query optimisation, transaction isolation and connection pooling.
• Redis: Production experience with caching, idempotency, distributed locks, Redis Streams, persistence, clustering and failure scenarios.
• Messaging & Asynchronous Processing: Hands‑on experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Redis Streams or equivalent technologies.
• Event‑Driven Architecture: Understanding of event sourcing, CQRS, outbox patterns and reliable asynchronous processing.
• API Development: Expertise in REST APIs, OpenAPI specifications, API versioning, OAuth2, OIDC, webhooks and third‑party integrations.
• API Gateways & Middleware: Experience with WSO2, Kong, Azure API Management or similar technologies.
• Cloud & DevOps: Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Monitoring & Observability: Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK or Azure Monitor.
• Testing & Engineering Practices: Strong understanding of unit testing, integration testing, contract testing, code reviews and secure software development.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical decisions and collaborate with distributed teams.
• On‑Site Availability: Willingness and availability to work on‑site in Dubai, UAE, for a minimum of six months.

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, supply chain, fintech, government or other compliance‑sensitive environments.
• Knowledge of structured‑data standards such as EDI, HL7/FHIR or ISO 20022.
• Experience with WSO2 Enterprise Integrator, WSO2 API Manager or comparable middleware platforms.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL extensions such as pgvector, PostGIS or TimescaleDB.
• Experience with read replicas, logical replication and large‑scale database operations.
• Understanding of computer‑system validation and audit requirements, including GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11 or ISO 27001 controls.
