Job Description:

Senior ITS Specialist / Engineer

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is seeking a highly talented Senior ITS Specialist / Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all ITS works, including integration and SCADA for projects involving open cut tunnels, roads, and bridges.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop project schedules and manage project activities.
  • Collaborate with project staff to ensure timely and budget-compliant project execution.
  • Manage client relationships and coordinate with in-house staff to achieve project cost targets.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the client and project staff, establishing and implementing procedures to deliver agreed-upon services.
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of technical documents, including man-hour estimates.
  • Define project scope, deliverables, schedules, and specific client requirements.
  • Provide direction and make decisions to ensure project completion according to schedule and budget.
  • Promote technical excellence and further the Quality Improvement Process.
  • Ensure adequate checking is performed in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Maintain clear and frequent communications between Home Office staff and Site staff.
  • Advise upper management regarding any problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.
  • Initiate and/or review change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in ITS and traffic operation projects, including tunnels and integration.
  • Thorough knowledge of ITS Operations and Traffic Management principles and systems.
  • Previous experience with Integrated Transport Systems (ITS) is essential.
  • Substantial experience managing large traffic operations contracts within a traffic control center.
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: systems engineering, systems integration, big data analysis, traffic software development, or traffic/transportation engineering.
  • Experience in long-range strategic program planning activities.
  • Demonstrated success in keeping programs on schedule and within budget while meeting performance goals.
  • Effective management of multiple team members across different geographic locations.
  • Knowledge of local and regional traffic operations is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations as required.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • The Senior ITS Specialist / Engineer should have completed a wide variety of ITS/SCADA engineering assignments, ITS/SCADA System Integration, coordination, and supervision, applying engineering techniques and analyses.
  • The Senior ITS Specialist / Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices. Some assignments involve CAE (computer-aided engineering)/CAD (computer-aided design) and BIM applications. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.
