Job summary

EDGE is seeking an experienced IT Applications Manager to ensure smooth operation, installation, configuration and maintenance of the organisation’s applications and workstations in Abu Dhabi. The role requires strong English communication, five to six years in IT Applications, and at least one year in a supervisory position.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's in CS/IS (Master's preferred) and may benefit from Cisco certifications (CCNP/CCDP/CCIE/CCDA).

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
• Five to six years of IT Applications experience.
• Minimum one year in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of applications and area computers to ensure availability and compliance.
• Coordinate installation, configuration and maintenance of applications and workstations.

• Manage cross-functional communication impacting scope, budget, risk and resources.
• Analyze and rewrite programs to improve efficiency and meet new requirements.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth operation of applications and functional area computers to ensure all computer systems are consistently available and in compliance with applicable standards.
• Coordinate the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organisation’s applications and work stations.
• Direct diagnostic investigations of program errors and direct or recommend solutions or methodologies for resolution.
• Manage communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort being managed.
• Correct program errors using methods such as modifying programs or altering the sequence of program steps. Analyse, review and rewrite programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt programs to new requirements.
• Prepare detailed workflow charts to illustrate the sequence of steps that programs must follow; describe input, output and logical operations involved.
• Manage the administration, maintenance and upgrades of the organisation’s applications.
• Analyse and recommend the use of new applications and services to senior management.
• Conduct and validate the physical inventory of IT equipment and software.
• Provide instructions and training to staff when necessary.
• Assist with the enforcement of all IT directives within the company.
• Ensure all IT property is maintained in a serviceable condition, routinely inventoried and safeguarded.
• Supervise, monitor and train IT Analyst(s), Applications on a variety of IT tasks.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
• Support other members of the IT section in fulfilling their roles.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems or a related discipline required; Master degree preferred, or Equivalent years of Experiences in same field
• A minimum of five to six years of experience in an IT Applications role is required.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory position is required.
• Certifications in Cisco Certified Network Professions (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professions (CCDP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) are an advantage.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
• Have, or be able to obtain a valid UAE driver’s license.
