Perform the repairing & fabrication activities of Ironworks Section throughout the plant with high proficiency, quality, and maximum safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Optimize Production:
To execute all scheduled corrective maintenance and major repairs of the equipment to optimize production & minimize downtime, ensuring quality of fabrication & Ironworks. - Prompt Problem Solving:
Responsible for addressing Ironworks-related problems during breakdowns, maintaining defined quality standards. - Providing Tools, Techniques, and Solutions:
Responsible for preparing tools and tackles before scheduled jobs and communicating any abnormalities during job execution. - Audit and Investigation:
Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with engineering principles and safety regulations, maintaining quality standards. - Maintenance Support:
Assist the Supervisor of the Ironworks Workshop in all fabrication areas to ensure smooth maintenance for uninterrupted production and coordination with other departments. - Implementing Standards:
Follow and uphold quality standards during shutdowns to ensure machine safety and prevent accidents. - Policies and Procedures Management:
Adhere to all safety, quality, health, and environmental policies related to fabrication & Ironworks. - Supervision:
Lead a team of Technicians/Welders, providing instruction and guidance, and participate in activities during shutdowns.
Act as Supervisor in the absence of the Supervisor or as required.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

- Handle multiple, diverse, and changing responsibilities following complex instructions.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills, including report writing and verbal proficiency in English and Arabic.
Preferred Professional Training
- Knowledge of various welding techniques (Arc, MIG, TIG, copper, stainless steel) and gas cutting.
- Knowledge of development & fabrication work.
- Ability to use dye penetrant tests for crack detection.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Ability to take site measurements, perform marking, make templates, and operate common machines like hydraulic presses, jacks, bending, and shearing machines.
- Exposure to computer skills.
Professional Experience (Must Haves)
- 7-8 years of experience in Mechanical maintenance of a Steel Plant as a Sr. Technician (Fabrication/Welding).
- At least 5 years of experience as a Technician (fabrication) / Welder in heavy industry.
