Balfour Beatty is seeking high-caliber candidates for the position of Senior Internal Auditor in its newly created GCCII (Gulf Cooperation Council countries, India, and Indonesia) region. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across both the professional services and construction operations within the GCCII region. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team focused on growth in these expanding markets and will play a key role in Balfour Beatty’s assurance functions.

Role

The Senior Internal Auditor will be based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, reporting functionally to the Vice President/Global Director of Internal Audit in the US, and ultimately to the Head of Group Risk and Assurance of Balfour Beatty PLC. The individual will report administratively to the Director of Ethics, Risk & Assurance, supporting audit activities across the GCC, India, and Indonesia, including offices in Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, India, and Indonesia.

Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is to provide assurance to senior management that adequate financial internal controls and procedures are in place and functioning effectively. The Senior Internal Auditor will:

1. Participate in developing and reviewing annual audit plans for the GCCII region with management.
2. Conduct contract and business process reviews, assessing risks and evaluating controls implemented by management within the region.
3. Prepare reports on audit findings and provide recommendations to enhance the control environment and mitigate risks.
4. Discuss audit observations and reports with relevant management at all levels.

Profile

• Degree in accounting, finance, or management, with a professional qualification such as CPA, CIA, or equivalent.
• Strong written skills in English and Arabic; proficiency in Farsi is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of internal audit experience in a multinational services organization, preferably with construction industry experience.
• Ability to work independently and professionally at all organizational levels, adapting to different environments.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to think independently.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50-60% within the GCCII region.
• Some experience with Oracle is a plus.
