Job summary

Intelligent Solutions HR seeks a Senior Internal Audit Manager to lead the internal audit function in a UAE-based insurance organization. The role demands developing a risk-based audit strategy, evaluating controls, and advising senior stakeholders on emerging risks.

You will oversee the full audit lifecycle, drive improvements, and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring adherence to UAE regulatory requirements and governance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or related discipline.
• Professional audit qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or CPA.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, primarily within the insurance sector.
• In-depth understanding of internal audit principles, risk-based planning, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading audits, projects, and supervising team members.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive, risk-based annual audit plan aligned with the organization's objectives and risk appetite.
• Present the annual audit plan to the Board Audit Committee and senior management for approval.
• Lead and manage the internal audit function, ensuring the team has the appropriate skills and resources.
• Oversee the full audit lifecycle, including planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up, compliant with Global Internal Audit Standards.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management with practical recommendations.
• Review and approve audit fieldwork and working papers for quality and accuracy.
• Prepare and present clear, actionable audit reports with findings and management action plans.
• Monitor remediation progress and report to the Board Audit Committee.
• Leverage data analytics and audit technology to improve coverage and insights.
• Maintain relationships with the Board Audit Committee, senior management, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulators to support audit coverage and minimize duplication.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the internal audit team.
• Develop and implement internal audit methodologies and participate in investigations or advisory assignments.
• Provide advisory support on new business initiatives and organizational changes.
• Identify and report departmental risks in line with risk policies and procedures.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with UAE laws and internal policies.
