Job summary

Dar is seeking an accomplished Interior Design leader to assist and collaborate with project managers on interior design components of development projects and to supervise all interior works by managing site construction activities, procurement of materials and ensuring cost-effective utilisation of labour.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 15+ years of experience in high-end interior design.

• 15+ years of experience in interior design from high end developments

Responsibilities

• Plan the internal and external design and manage the work of turning ideas into reality.
• Evaluate space plans and design concepts for safety, function, accessibility, sustainability, and regulations.
• Develop presentations with drawings, sketches, renderings, perspectives, boards, or models.
• Review color, materials and finishes to convey the design concept and lifecycle needs.
• Provide shop drawings and site documents such as letters of information, approvals and inspections.
• Prepare working drawings and specifications for implementing the design (materials, finishes, joinery, furnishings).
• Organize and control site activities with direct labor per drawings and contracts for efficient resources.
• Carry out site inspections and provide reports and recommendations to the project manager.
• Supervise draftsmen for technical details and guide them on design matters.

To assist and collaborate with project manager on the interior design components of development projects and responsible for the overall supervision of all interior works by managing site construction activities, procurement of materials and ensuring cost-effective utilization of labour.

Responsibilities:

• Plan the internal and external design and manages the work of turning the ideas into a reality.
• Evaluates and confirms that preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, life safety and welfare requirements, including code, accessibility, environmental, and sustainability guidelines.
• Develop presentations which may include drawings sketches, renderings, perspectives, color and material boards, photographs or models.
• Reviews and approves selection of colors, materials and finishes to appropriately convey the design concept, and to meet socio-psychological, functional, maintenance, life-cycle performance, environmental, and safety requirements.
• To provide shop drawings and site documents such as communication and circulating letters of information, approvals and inspection.
• Prepare working drawings and specifications for implementing the design (including materials, finishes, joinery work and furnishings.
• Organize and control site activates with direct labor to carry out works in accordance with drawings, specifications and other contract documents to ensure efficient and effective use of all resources.
• Carry out site inspection to provide reports and recommendations to the project manager.
• Supervise draftsman for the technical details and guide them on all design matters. Perform any other jobs as may be assigned by the superiors.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design or relevant course
• 15+ years of experience in interior design from high end developments
