Description:
The Senior Interior Designer is involved in all phases of a design project and includes the design or renovation of interior spaces, including structural alterations, furnishings, fixtures, fittings, lighting and color schemes. Designs and feasibility studies are produced tor commercial, hospitality, leisure and residential projects. The senior designer oversees the project from beginning to end being the main contact for all correspondence with the client and consultants. The Senior Interior Designer will report to the Associate Director with respect to project deliverables and prepare time schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and execution of design projects, from conceptualization to completion.
• Understanding hotel brand standards & guidelines, implementing this through design specifications.
• Collaborate with clients to translate their vision into tangible designs, maintaining an open and engaging line of communication throughout the project.
• Develop comprehensive design plans utilizing tools like AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator, SketchUp,
Photoshop, maintaining the highest level of precision and adherence to project requirements.
• Foster a collaborative environment with various project stakeholders including architects and con-tractors to ensure a seamless execution process.
• Mentor junior design team members, nurturing their growth and fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.
• Maintain stringent project management protocols to adhere to timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
• Cultivate relationship with suppliers and vendors, leveraging a deep understanding of the specific
materials and finishes.
• Stay ahead of the latest industry trends, incorporating innovative concepts and approached in every project undertaken.
• Create story boards and initial design directions.
• Considering materials and costs according to set budgets and reviewing quotes from suppliers.
• Sourcing products, for example fittings, furniture, lighting, finishes, decoration items, and providing samples for clients; this will include obtaining costs for all items and coordinating budgets.
• Preparing detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and schemes, often using computer-aided design (CAD) or relevant software.
• Drawing and specification documentation packages review for technical, operational, cost suitability and design for projects run by other designers.
• Working closely with quantity surveyors to establish costs and work schedules on projects where re-quired.
• Assist and work together as part of a team, creating and maintaining a harmonious work environment.
• Be readily available always to deal with problems or concerns
• Take minutes of meetings and distribute them to all team members
Skills:
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present concepts clearly and engage effectively with clients and team members.
• Has a keen detailed eye for developing design concepts through hand sketches or SketchUp or similar software's.
• Has experience in managing and coordinating proper interior marketing visuals, high quality rendering.
• Has a well-rounded knowledge in MEP and lighting and how it is connected to ID.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability to deliver design solutions to completion.
Qualifications:
• 8 - 10 years of rich experience the interior design sector, with a distinct focus on hospitality.
• Working with key hospitality operators.
• Interior Design or Architecture degree qualification.
• Team management skills including team building, co-ordination & motivation.
• Client account management.
