Job Title: Senior Instrumentation Engineer
Location: United Arab Emirates
Contract Duration: 4 months (temporary role)
Start Date: Immediate joiners preferred

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer to support a key engineering project in the UAE. This is a temporary position ideal for an experienced professional who can join immediately and contribute to the technical success of complex energy-sector developments.

About the Role
The Senior Instrumentation Engineer will lead the preparation of engineering design specifications, analysis, and documentation for instrumentation and control systems. The role requires direct interaction with clients, vendors, project teams, and site representatives to ensure engineering deliverables meet technical standards and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop basic and detailed design for instrumentation and control systems

  • Prepare specifications for field instrumentation, DCS, SCADA, ICS, Fire and Gas, and SIS systems

  • Generate engineering documents such as:

    • Basis of Design

    • Calculation Notes

    • Instrumentation Data Sheets

    • Material Requisitions

    • Technical Bid Evaluations

    • Job Specifications

    • Control Room Layouts

  • Review discipline drawings and vendor documents

  • Coordinate technical specifications across disciplines

  • Ensure vendor technical compliance and provide follow-up during procurement

  • Adhere to project budgets, timelines, and man-hour commitments

  • Provide progress reporting to the Lead Discipline Engineer

  • Maintain quality and HSE compliance throughout project activities

  • Interface with procurement, planning, and other engineering disciplines

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering with 15 to 20 years of relevant experience

  • Proven experience in the design and execution of instrumentation for onshore and offshore oil and gas projects

  • Proficiency in software tools such as MS Office, SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation), AVEVA

  • Ability to perform instrumentation sizing calculations using SPI or Instrucalc

  • Strong documentation, analytical, and reporting skills

  • Self-driven with strong communication and coordination abilities

  • Comfortable working independently and under time constraints
