The Modernization Senior Installation Engineer oversees the successful delivery of modernization projects, ensuring site safety, environmental compliance, and quality standards. They manage project planning, budgeting, and site readiness while coordinating with the Sales team, suppliers, and customers to ensure satisfaction. The role includes team leadership, performance management, and identifying training needs. They also handle financial coordination, aligning site activities with payment terms and receiving payments.

Key Responsibilities :

Site Supervision & Project Management :

Project Accountability : Ensure the successful delivery of modernization installation projects, with full accountability for site safety, quality, and adherence to project timelines and schedules.

Environmental Aspects : Oversee the management of environmental aspects during the modernization works, including waste handling, minimizing the use of hazardous materials, and reducing travel-related emissions.

Financial Responsibilities : Manage the project budget, ensuring cost control measures are in place. While factory price fluctuations or exchange rate variables are outside of direct control, strive to maintain financial targets and report any discrepancies promptly. Coordinate with Accounts Payable and Controlling to align site activities with contractual payment terms and receive payments.

Project Planning : Lead the sales-to-installation handover, validate customer orders, and prepare comprehensive execution programs. Organize resources efficiently, including planning and arranging material deliveries, tool storage, and subcontractors / suppliers coordination.

Site Readiness : Ensure all site preparations are completed and that the site is ready for the modernization process. Regularly follow up on site readiness and address any issues that may impact the project timeline.

Installation Methodology : Ensure the use of correct and up-to-date dismantling and / or installation methods to achieve high standards of safety, efficiency, and quality.

Progress Monitoring : Administer all project-related documentation and update company management systems (eg. S-plan milestone updates). Provide regular progress reports, including schedule updates, budget tracking, and risk assessments, to senior management. Accountable for final testing of the equipment and handover to maintenance.

Customer and Sub-contractor Relationship Management :

Customer Satisfaction : Act as the primary contact for customers throughout the modernization project, ensuring all site management issues are addressed promptly. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and maintain quality standards during installation.

Sub-contractor Performance : Monitor and assess sub-contractor performance, focusing on safety, quality, and adherence to project timelines. Foster a professional working relationship with all subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.

Sales & Variations : Aim to meet or exceed allocated sales targets, including identifying and executing variations / addwork opportunities during modernization projects.

Team Development : Lead and develop the modernization installation team, ensuring their well-being and professional growth. Manage team performance through clear objectives, effective communication, and motivational leadership.

Training Needs : Identify and address training needs for field operatives to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. Implement and manage training plans to enhance team capabilities.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Minimum5 years of Elevators & Escalators Installation experience
