Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Director to lead and deliver large-scale infrastructure programmes in the UAE. You will oversee cross-disciplinary teams, manage client and stakeholder relationships, and ensure delivery within programme, budget, quality, safety, and sustainability targets.

Candidates should have 20+ years in infrastructure delivery with senior leadership experience and professional certifications (CEng/PE/PMP). The role is based in Abu Dhabi/Al Ain with a contract arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in civil/engineering; master’s desired.
• CEng/PE/PMP or equivalent desirable; chartered status preferred.
• Minimum 20 years in major infrastructure delivery; 10+ years in senior leadership roles.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
• Extensive experience in roads, utilities, drainage, public realm and asset handover.
• UAE government authority engagement experience highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams from mobilization to final handover.
• Serve as primary contact with client, authorities, and key stakeholders.
• Oversee contract administration per FIDIC and project requirements; manage variations and claims.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and sustainability requirements.
• Lead risk management, governance, and continuous improvement.
• Report status, risks, and opportunities to senior management.
