Senior Information Technology Security Officer

A reputable and well-established Bank is actively recruiting a Senior Information Security & Data Protection Officer for their team in Umm Al Quwain.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Assist in developing and maintaining data protection and privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor and assess the company's data protection practices, identify potential risks and vulnerabilities and propose appropriate solutions.
• Provide guidance and support to business units on data management.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of data protection controls and processes.
• Stay up to date with relevant data protection laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and provide recommendations for adapting policies and procedures accordingly.

To be successful you will need to meet the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Information Security. Certifications in data protection and privacy (such as CIPP/A, CDPSE, CIPM, CISA, ISO 27001 LA, ITIL V3) is a plus.
• Minimum 4 – 5 years’ experience working in data protection, privacy, or information security roles within the Banking or Financial Services industry.
• Knowledge of data protection laws and regulations of banking standards in the UAE.
• Good understanding of banking functions and legal framework.
• Basic understanding of Privacy Impact Analysis & incident management process.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address data protection risks and vulnerabilities.
