Job summary

Al Shirawi Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Company is seeking an Estimation Engineer - HVAC to prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for HVAC projects by reviewing tender documents, drawings, and BOQs. You will conduct quantity take-offs, coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors, and analyse costs to prepare competitive tenders.

The role requires 5+ years of HVAC estimation experience in an MEP environment, and a strong ability to translate technical drawings into precise estimates

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of HVAC estimation experience in an MEP company.
• Experience creating accurate cost estimates and quotations for HVAC projects.
• Strong quantity take-off skills and supplier/subcontractor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, HVAC drawings, specifications, and BOQs to understand project requirements.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, insulation, and accessories.
• Prepare cost estimates for equipment, materials, labour, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare RFQs and follow up with suppliers to obtain competitive prices.
• Analyse supplier quotations and compare technical and commercial offers.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to clarify requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, omissions, and potential risks in tender documents.
• Prepare cost breakdowns, rate analysis, and tender submissions within deadlines.
• Assist in value engineering and cost optimisation without compromising quality.
• Maintain records of quotations, cost estimates, and tender documentation.
• Participate in tender clarification meetings and provide support during negotiations.
• Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, standards, and company procedures.
