Job summary

Wasael Property Management in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental efforts across our construction projects. You will develop and implement HSE plans, mentor site teams, and ensure regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, NEBOSH/IOSH qualifications, and a proven track record with large-scale developments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent internationally recognized HSE qualification is preferred.
Relevant UAE HSE practitioner certification or registration would be an advantage.
Strong HSE management experience within construction, real estate development, infrastructure, or major project environments.
Experience managing HSE performance across large-scale construction projects and multiple contractors.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain project HSE plans, policies, procedures, and management systems.
Ensure UAE HSE legislation, regulatory requirements, authority standards, and organizational policies compliance.
Provide HSE leadership and guidance to project teams, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
Review and approve contractor HSE plans, risk assessments, method statements, emergency response plans, and other HSE documentation.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and assessments to identify hazards and non-compliance.
Monitor activities to ensure appropriate HSE controls and safe systems of work.
Lead hazard identification and risk assessment activities with preventive and corrective actions.
Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and environmental events; determine root causes.
Develop and monitor HSE KPIs, statistics, trends, and performance indicators; report to management.
Lead HSE meetings, toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and awareness programmes across projects.
Coordinate with relevant teams to integrate HSE considerations into planning and execution.
Liaise with government authorities and external stakeholders on HSE matters.
Ensure environmental risks are identified and managed throughout delivery.
Promote proactive safety culture and workforce accountability for HSE.
Maintain accurate HSE records and compliance evidence.
