Job summary

Sigma Earth in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Senior Advisor – Safety, Health & Environment to support civil works for rail infrastructure. The role implements health, safety, and environmental controls across construction activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, company policies, and local regulations.

Responsibilities include leading HSE plans, site audits, incident investigations, training, and coordinating with engineering and QA teams.

Qualifications

• Total of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Rail project experience will be an advantage.
• Experience performing technical work across environmental, health, and safety disciplines under general supervision.
• Ability to ensure compliance with ES&H standards and applicable federal, state, or local regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures within environmental and safety disciplines.
• Experience supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety and health programmes, systems, and procedures.
• Ability to monitor and prevent workplace hazards and occupational health risks.
• Experience investigating accidents, injuries, and workplace hazard complaints.

Responsibilities

• Provide health and safety support to maintain a safe working environment across project sites.
• Assist teams in identifying environmental aspects and setting project objectives and targets.
• Identify unsafe site conditions, work practices, and potential environmental or safety risks.
• Investigate root causes related to safety, health, and industrial hygiene issues.
• Develop hazard control processes, procedures, and safety programmes.
• Monitor the implementation of safety plans in line with project objectives.
• Track safety systems using digital tools, computer systems, and spreadsheets.
• Communicate HSE plans, strategies, and updates across the project team.
• Represent the Logistics and QHSE Manager on construction sites when required.
• Assist in identifying and mitigating risks to personnel, property, and site operations.
• Assist in developing and implementing the Project Health, Safety and Environment Plan.
• Review Permit to Work procedures and logs.
• Prepare and issue daily, weekly, and monthly site safety inspections, audits, and reports.
