Job summary

Abu Dhabi Health Services Company- SEHA seeks an experienced orthopedic consultant to provide expert care in hip and knee disorders, including joint preservation, replacement, and revision surgeries. The Consultant will deliver advanced orthopedic services in line with SEHA’s standards for quality, safety, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Residency in Orthopedic Surgery and fellowship training in Hip and Knee Surgery or Arthroplasty.
• Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery with subspecialty credentials in Hip & Knee Reconstruction.
• Valid DOH Consultant License or eligibility to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat hip and knee conditions, including osteoarthritis, avascular necrosis, fractures, deformities, and ligament injuries.
• Perform total hip and knee replacements, revision arthroplasty, minimally invasive joint surgeries, and arthroscopies.
• Manage preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, ensuring optimal recovery and rehabilitation.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, pain specialists, rheumatologists, and other specialists in a multidisciplinary team.
• Conduct outpatient clinics, provide inpatient consultations, and lead orthopedic surgical rounds.
• Supervise junior surgeons, residents, and allied health professionals; contribute to clinical teaching and skills development.
• Ensure accurate documentation in SEHA’s EMR systems, including operative reports and discharge summaries.
• Participate in quality assurance, morbidity and mortality reviews, and continuous clinical improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to SEHA and DOH policies regarding patient safety, surgical protocols, infection control, and ethical standards.
