Job summary

SEHA in Abu Dhabi seeks a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon with a focus on hip and knee procedures. The candidate will lead complex arthroplasty cases, mentor junior staff, and participate in multi-disciplinary patient care teams.

The role requires board certification in Orthopedic Surgery, fellowship in hip/knee, and a DOH license. You will contribute to teaching and QA initiatives while ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Residency in Orthopedic Surgery with fellowship in Hip and Knee Surgery or Arthroplasty.
• Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery with subspecialty credentials in Hip & Knee Reconstruction.
• Valid DOH Consultant License in Orthopedic Surgery or eligibility to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with hip and knee conditions, including OA, fractures, and deformities.
• Perform total hip and knee replacements, revision arthroplasty, and minimally invasive joint procedures.
• Manage preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to optimize recovery.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, pain specialists, rheumatologists, and other specialists in a multidisciplinary team.
• Conduct outpatient clinics, provide inpatient consultations, and lead orthopedic rounds.
• Supervise junior surgeons, residents, and allied health staff; contribute to teaching and skills development.
• Ensure accurate documentation in EMR, including operative reports and discharge summaries.
• Participate in quality assurance, morbidity and mortality reviews, and continuous improvement.
