Job summary

NMDC Dredging & Marine is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to prepare techno-commercial inputs and lead geotechnical design activities for dredging, land reclamation, ports and offshore marine projects in the UAE. The role requires coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, technically accurate deliverables while adhering to project specs and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Geotechnical Engineering).
• Minimum 8 years of engineering and design experience in geotechnical works related to dredging, land reclamation, ports and harbors, coastal protection, offshore, and marine infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare inputs for geotechnical design solutions for tenders and ensure alignment with client specs.
• Coordinate geotechnical design activities for ongoing projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with standards.
• Interpret geotechnical data and prepare design recommendations and technical reports under guidance.
• Conduct slope stability, settlement, and foundation analyses and review junior engineers' work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet schedules and technical requirements.
• Identify geotechnical risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Contribute to R&D in geotechnical tools, methods, and procedures.
• Review calculations and design docs to ensure compliance with requirements and best practices.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders for clarifications and timely deliverables.
• Ensure designs comply with QA/QC, standards, and company guidelines.
• Promote HSE compliance in all design and analytical activities.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Prepare techno-commercial inputs and support the development of geotechnical design solutions for tenders, ensuring alignment with client specifications and project objectives.
• Perform and coordinate geotechnical design activities for ongoing projects, ensuring timely delivery, technical accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Interpret and analyze geotechnical investigation data, and prepare design recommendations and technical reports under the guidance of the Lead Engineer or Geotechnical Design Manager.
• Conduct slope stability, settlement, and foundation analyses using appropriate software and engineering methodologies. Support advanced analyses when required and review the work of junior engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and assist in coordinating resources to meet project schedules and technical requirements.
• Identify and communicate geotechnical risks and opportunities encountered during design and project execution, and recommend practical mitigation measures.
• Support engineering research and development initiatives by contributing technical inputs for the enhancement of geotechnical design tools, methodologies, and procedures.
• Review and provide comments on design documentation and calculations prepared internally or by external consultants to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering best practices.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to provide technical clarifications, support project execution, and ensure the timely completion of deliverables.
• Ensure that all designs and analyses comply with QA/QC requirements, industry standards, and company design guidelines.
• Promote compliance with the Company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, ensuring safety considerations are integrated into all design and analytical activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Geotechnical Engineering), Geology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of engineering and design experience in geotechnical works related to dredging, land reclamation, ports and harbors, coastal protection, offshore, and marine infrastructure projects.
