Job summary

CNPC R&D (DIFC) Company Limited is CNPC’s R&D and Technical Support Centre based in the DIFC. The Principal Geophysicist will lead advanced seismic interpretation, inversion and integrated subsurface studies to support field development and production optimization.

The role requires a PhD in Geoscience with 15+ years in upstream oil and gas, strong English communication, and the ability to mentor junior staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across regions.

Qualifications

• PhD in Geoscience with 15+ years upstream oil and gas experience.
• Demonstrated experience with seismic interpretation/inversion and integrated subsurface studies.
• Excellent English communication and ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex geophysical studies and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Integrate geophysical data with geological and reservoir engineering inputs.
• Provide technical recommendations for field development, well placement and reserves evaluation.
• Drive continuous improvement of workflows, standards and best practices.
