Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Flow Assurance Engineer to join its Production Optimisation team within the Digital Consulting business unit.

Due to project and client expectations, this position will be based full-time at our office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Role

This role involves contributing to the technical delivery of Flow Assurance engineering excellence, collaborating closely with the Lead Flow Assurance Engineer to meet project deliverables on time and within budget.

The Senior Flow Assurance Engineer will manage their own schedule, contribute to progress reports, and suggest adjustments to project plans and cost estimates as required.

This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute flow assurance scope/workflow, handling problems with guidance from senior engineers, policies, standards, and precedents.
  • Meet discipline-specific cost and schedule requirements in deliverables.
  • Coordinate work schedules with the Lead FA Engineer and assist in preparing progress reports.
  • Recommend changes in plans, man-hours, and costs when necessary.
  • Perform steady state and transient flow simulations for various projects (oil, gas, condensate, water injection, chemical injection, H2, CO2, etc.).
  • Develop engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, reports, and technical requisitions.
  • Interpret specifications and investigate difficulties.
  • Review vendor documents and participate in design reviews.
  • Provide FA discipline expertise, including problem-solving, developing solutions, and assessing risks and benefits.
  • Assist in delivering small-scale projects, managing cost, schedule, resources, and risks within established plans.
  • Support proposal drafting and project change requests (CTRs).

Qualifications

Expected:

  • Experience in Flow Assurance.
  • Recognized qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical).
  • Knowledge of multiphase flow, fluid dynamics, heat transfer (desirable but not required).
  • Proficiency with Process, Flow Assurance, and PVT software suites (OLGA, Leda Flow, Pipesim, PVTSim, Multiflash).
  • Experience with industry-standard process modeling tools (Aspen HYSYS/Unisim, desired).
  • Experience with flow assurance modeling for Oil and Gas-Condensate systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with Office software.
  • Ability to undertake independent FA scopes within projects.
  • Ability to mentor Graduate Engineers.
  • Strong communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with VisualBasic (desired).
