Senior Financial Controlling Analyst | Retail

Overview of the role: Ensure robust financial controls and compliance to safeguard assets, enhance processes, and communicate financial insights clearly to drive informed business decisions.

What you will do:

1. Support the creation and ensure compliance with operational accounting policies.
2. Perform effective training and management on the accounting procedures.
3. Support the Lead with ensuring compliance with Transfer pricing transactions.
4. Responsible for maintaining the chart of accounts and effectively communicate any changes being made/new accounts being opened with the purpose of use.
5. Supporting the lead with the impairment workings activities during HY and YE audits.
6. Perform spot cash counts/inventory write-off reviews from a financial control element.
7. Support the preparation/conducting Training & workshops for Controls and IFRS standards.
8. Ensure all Internal Audit recommendations are implemented which are in conjunction with Finance Controls.
9. Ensure Intercompany transactions comply with the Group Policies and accepted on a timely basis.
10. Responsible for Document retention compliance in all geographies.
11. Support with random audits of workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized and executed.
12. Support the streamlining of finance processes through automation where possible.

What you will need:

1. Education degree in finance.
2. Accounting certifications are a plus.
3. At least 8 years’ experience of which 2 years in external auditing consultancies (retail is a plus).
4. Solid experience in International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS).
5. Understanding of internal controls and system governance.
6. Knowledge of SAP BPC or SAP Business Warehouse will be highly regarded.
